2017 Sharon Springs Poetry Festival
Due to unexpected circumstances, Marie Howe (named on the poster) was forced to cancel her appearance at the Poetry Festival. But we were fortunate to find an equally exciting and much-honored poet to step in: Monica Youn joined the lineup for the Friday reading at the Sharon Springs Central School Auditorium.
To accommodate demand, a second free poetry workshop has been added on Saturday, October 21. The additional workshop was conducted by Major Jackson at the Sharon Springs Free Library, 10 AM - 12 PM.
This was no ordinary event! Pulitzer Prize winner, internationally known poet and Sharon Springs resident Paul Muldoon came to us with the idea and was instrumental in making it happen. Festival events included:
Student workshops at Sharon Springs Central School and Cherry Valley-Springfield Central School.
Plus, a free poetry workshops (limited to twelve participants) with Paul Muldoon and Major Jackson at the Sharon Springs Free Library on Saturday October 21.
